WISHGHAN CAL WEEK #10: Cricket the Crocodile

It’s always interesting to stop for a moment and think about what you would wish for if you could only wish for one thing? Well, you can be sure there would be a fair few who would wish for something frivolous or misguided… Cricket the Crocodile was no different.

She coveted something a crocodile could never have… was never meant to have… hair. But there’s one thing about hair that Cricket never factored in… it never stops growing!

If you haven’t had a chance to read my children’s chapter book, WISHWEAVER, you can find it at most online retailers including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, IndieBound, Target, and Walmart! Written for ages 7-9, WISHWEAVER would make the perfect gift for the special kiddo in your life. Especially ones who love adventure, bugs, and magic!

Book Two in the Tales of Whimsy series, The Wayward Wind, will hit the online retailers on August 28th! Whimsy’s story is far from finished, and I can’t wait to share more of it with you.

The voice that came from the creature didn’t seem to match the appearance of the animal that stood before Whimsy. Every time the animal tried to rise back up again, another part of their body dipped as their hair was pulled on another part of their body. From tip to tail, Whimsy noticed now, they were covered. Long flowing hair. As far as her eyes could see.

Excerpt from the children’s chapter book, WISHWEAVER, by J.H. Winter

While this Wishghan CAL posts will always be here for free on my blog, for convenience, I’ve also created one giant 70-page PDF file for those who would like to purchase a copy of all the files together in one place along with a photo tutorial of connecting the squares and doing the final border. No searching through posts necessary! Plus, it’s over there now, should you want to work ahead of the group rather than wait for each week’s new square. You can purchase this pattern for a small fee here on Ravelry. It is also available on Etsy and LoveCrafts.

Make sure to post your finished squares/rectangles on social media:
