New Crochet Amigurumi Pattern in the Shop: Palm-Sized Pup

Sharing is caring!

Time for a brand new pattern to crochet! This palm-sized pup will be an adorable addition to your amigurumi collection and whips up rather quickly too!

This little guy stands roughly 5 inches tall if you use the Bergere de France 100% Recycle 4 yarn, but if you go with an acrylic yarn like Red Heart Super Saver, he’ll just be a bit bigger and maybe a little less palm-sized. 🙂

The story of this little guy is below, but there was one more thing I wanted to let you all know before I get to it… I’ve added crochetable incentives to my Patreon. If you join as a High Flyer, you get all of my amigurumi patterns for free. This currently includes: Happy Sunflower, Floppy Cat, Sleeping Snake, Santa and the Turtle Doves, and now the Palm-Sized Pup! All future amigurumis will be included in that membership too!

For my Post Pals, you get all of the amigurumi patterns + all present and future C2C Graphghans. This means that you will already be able to get the full 65+ page PDFs for the Catghan, Dogghan, and Wishghan, along with all future C2C patterns! I do hope you’ll join me there too.

Now, let’s get back to telling about the Palm-Sized Pup!

The Story Behind the Palm-Sized Pup

My original, not so palm-sized pup, Inuki.

When I originally made this pattern way back when, he came out quite a bit larger and went by the name, Inuki. But when I put the pattern in for a Crochet Society box and it was accepted, I had to be able to make the pattern using one of each of the Bergere de France yarns, and no more.

I started trying to make it, but quickly realized that I was going to need a second skein of the main body color. In order to be able to have the pattern go inside the box which would only have one of each of the Ecru, Zinc, and Nuit skeins of yarn, I had to think fast.

I would need to adapt the pattern to use less yarn and for that I had to shrink Inuki down, turning him into the Palm-Sized Pup he is today.

The next pattern that will be up in the shop very soon will be the Mini Happy Sunflower. For that pattern I did the very same thing, shrinking the Happy Sunflower down to a more pint-sized package that fits into a much teenier pot too!

See the little guy hiding behind the Happy Sunflower sticker below? I can’t wait to share that pattern with you 🙂

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Happy crocheting!!
