WISHGHAN CAL WEEK #8: Lady Porcupine

Lady Porcupine is an elder in Weyburn and the very best at baking. Her crawler biscuits are craved far and wide, and any who taste one will tell you just how delicious they are!

When I wrote Lady into the story, I had no idea the warm reaction she’d get from those who turn the pages. I have heard on many occasions that Lady is a favorite among the Tales of Whimsy readers and if you’re one of them, you’ll be pleased to know she warms her way into the second book in the series due out June 1st, The Wayward Wind!

Below is a photo of one of my sticker packs up in the @InkAndStitchesArt Etsy shop that is all to do with Tea and Biscuits, friendship, and the amazing porcupine who makes them.

Who is your favorite character? I’d love to know in the comments below!

If you haven’t had a chance to read my children’s chapter book, WISHWEAVER, you can find it at most online retailers including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, IndieBound, Target, and Walmart! Written for ages 7-9, WISHWEAVER would make the perfect gift for the special kiddo in your life. Especially ones who love adventure, bugs, and magic!

“Oh, hello, Whimsy dear. Flit. You smelled my biscuits, didn’t you?”

“How could I not?” Whimsy asked with a smile. “I think the whole of Weyburn can smell those delicious biscuits whenever you make them. Lucky for me, I’m friends with the cook!”

Lady Porcupine laughed, shaking a few of her quills loose. Whimsy ducked to avoid them as they sailed past into a nearby tree. It was the one danger of having an elder porcupine for a friend. “Oops. Sorry, dear.”

“There’s one thing that’s better than an apology,” Whimsy said, looking bashful.

“How ‘bout a biscuit?” Lady held out a plate with a pile of crawler biscuits on top still sending up dancing puffs of steam.

While this Wishghan CAL posts will always be here for free on my blog, for convenience, I’ve also created one giant 70-page PDF file for those who would like to purchase a copy of all the files together in one place along with a photo tutorial of connecting the squares and doing the final border. No searching through posts necessary! Plus, it’s over there now, should you want to work ahead of the group rather than wait for each week’s new square. You can purchase this pattern for a small fee here on Ravelry. It is also available on Etsy and LoveCrafts.

Make sure to post your finished squares/rectangles on social media:
