The Wayward Wind Update
Some Good News and Some Less than Good News…
I wanted you all to be the first to get the scoop on the second book in the Tales of Whimsy series, The Wayward Wind.
You may remember that the book was meant to come out in April. Delays at the printers due to COVID set that release date back to June 1st. Well, guess what… the date has had to be pushed back yet again, hopefully for the last time.
COVID has affected so many of us in one way or another, and although lots of everyday things are beginning to normalize, there are still delays at many of the businesses out there. Apparently the publishing world is no exception.
But, my publisher has switched printers, and we are now looking ahead to a healthier world and Whimsy’s story continuing on August 28th. So, what should we do in the meantime?
Let’s look at the glass half full…
#1: If you want a jumpstart on reading The Wayward Wind, you can. Right now!
The ebook version is available on Amazon! We are hoping to get some reviews up for the book before the printed version comes out. I know, with an illustrated book such as this, I personally would want to hold it in my hands to enjoy it fully, but why not do both? Get the ebook now to read the story and see the illustrations, and get the printed copy on August 28th, to have in your book collection at home to read and re-read again and again.
#2: I’ve been selected to have a featured free pattern on The Hook Nook blog over the summer by the amazing, Jessica Carey (more to come!). She is the creator of the book Making with Meaning and she recently opened her own yarn shop in Portland, Oregon.
One of these days I’d love to go for a visit and squish all the lovely yarns Jessica’s designed! In the meantime, I’m designing a new amigurumi pattern for her blog, with a new character you’re going to meet in The Wayward Wind.
#3: I’ve been revamping my Ink & Stitches brand (you may have noticed), and have turned it into a proper licensed business! It was time I took the leap!
My Ink And Stitches Art Etsy shop is full of new lovelies with more just waiting to arrive any day! I can’t wait to grow my business and share even more of my art and stories with you.
I’ve started an Ink & Stitches Pinterest Page as well. I’d love for you to follow me there too! I’ve always loved Pinterest and it’s going to be so much fun to grow the Ink & Stitches brand over there too.Â
This all brings me to one last glass half full
thought I had…Â
While we wait for The Wayward Wind to come out, let’s have a Tales of Whimsy Giveaway! 🙂
Here’s what you’ll be putting your name in the hat for this time:
- 1 – Art print from the @InkAndStitchesArt Etsy Shop
- 1 – Sticker pack from the @InkAndStitchesArt Etsy Shop
- 1 – Signed copy of the first book in the Tales of Whimsy series: Wishweaver. If you already own a copy, this would make a lovely gift for a friend.
I will choose the winner for this Giveaway on June 1st when we were meant to get the book as a consolation for it being released a wee bit later. They say the best things come to those who wait. Let’s get this Giveaway started!
