DOGGHAN CAL – WEEK #8 Hot Diggity Dachshund
DOGGHAN CAL – WEEK #8: Hot Diggity Dachshund
For our very first rectangular square, what better pup to showcase how long a dog can be than the dachshund?
When we did the Catghan, I had a theme of adding fish to some of the kitties. Cats dreaming of fish, looking in a fish bowl, and just fish swimming along.
For the Dogghan, I wanted to do something similar, and decided on adding birds. I’ve seen many pups chasing after them, and birds translated well into graphgans. For the dachshund, how funny would it be for him to be a perch for said birds? My son loves rainbows, so of course, I made one of each color. 🙂
Keep in mind for rectangles, when you reach the first corner, you will want to increase on the side of the rectangle that needs to grow, and decrease on the side that is at the proper height already. I have instructed in the directions which is which as well. Once you get to the final longest length, you will decrease on both sides as usual to finish off the rectangle.
With that, lets get on with the hot diggity dachshund!
While this Dogghan CAL posts will always be here for free on my blog, for convenience, I’ve also created one giant PDF file for those who would like to purchase a copy of all the files together in one place. No searching through posts necessary. Plus, it’s over there now, should you want to work ahead of the group rather than wait for each week’s new square. You can purchase this pattern for a small fee here on Ravelry. It is also available on Etsy.
Make sure to post your finished squares/rectangles on social media:

I hope if you’re new to C2C crochet, that watching the YouTube videos for the first two squares, and working alongside me, have helped you get this fun technique down pat!
