CATGHAN CAL – WEEK #5 – Glasses + BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
CATGHAN CAL – WEEK #5: Glasses
I loved creating this week’s Catghan square. She is based on a tortoiseshell kitty I used to have named Jezebel (Jezi for short), who had a lot of personality and spunk! Hence the bright green glasses 😉
Have you been using up some of that yarn stash? I sure hope so!
Follow to the end of this post for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
If you haven’t already posted a picture on social media, the official hashtag for this CAL is: #CatghanCAL2019
If you are just starting to work on your squares for the CATGHAN CAL, I suggest starting with Week One’s PEEKAMEW square and work alongside me in the YouTube Video for that week. Week Two’s Mouse Watching square also has a video as well. Once you work your way through those two, I have no doubt you’ll be ready to work on the more difficult squares (in regards to color changing only, the stitches are the same).
** I have new videos up on my YouTube channel that explain: How to tie in loose ends and create the single crochet border around each square. **
This pattern was lovingly tested by the wonderful crocheters over on the Facebook Group: CAL – Crochet A Long. Stop by, join the group, and crochet with us!
While this Catghan CAL posts will always be here for free on my blog, for convenience, I’ve also created one giant PDF file for those who would like to purchase a copy of all the files together in one place. No searching through posts necessary. Plus, it’s over there now, should you want to work ahead of the group rather than wait for each week’s new square. You can purchase this pattern for a small fee here on Ravelry or now over in my Etsy Shop.

Week #6 Color Chart Preview:
Ready for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT?
Based off an overwhelming amount of inquiries and interest into the possibility of a Dogghan C2C CAL for the future, I’m happy to say, the answer is YES!!!
I’m starting the design process now. Once the design is made, my wonderful FB Group has agreed to test this pattern too, in order to get it ready for the rest of my wonderful followers. After we’ve all worked through the squares and I’ve done some more videos for those of you who are new to C2C crochet (or like to follow along with the designer on a few), the Dogghan CAL can begin!
I have this CAL set to start in 2020. Although, if I find extra time on that magical crochet clock of mine with extra hours in the day, you may be seeing something sooner…like perhaps in late 2019 instead. 😉
Now, I have a few questions for all you dog lovers out there: Which dog breeds would you like to see represented in this Dogghan? There is a poll going on over on Facebook here, so cast your votes! Any dog antics you’d like to see shown in the Dogghan too? How excited are you for this CAL?
If you have some wonderful pics of your own pup you’d like to see me base a square or two off of, please follow this Facebook thread and post your pup pics. We will be compiling them and getting down to the favorites where there will be a final vote done by all of you!
This is going to be so much fun! Stay tuned!

I just found your cats. Am making for my son. I would love a dog one. We have 3 border collie mixes. Would love to make one for my hubby. Thanks for doing these. They are so cute.

Ask and you shall receive, Karen! I am currently having testers test my pattern for the Dogghan I finished designing this week. You can expect to start the CAL for the Dogghan later this year after the Catghan is complete. Cheers!

Really looking forward to seeing what the blanket will look like!!!

Thank you Annie! I can’t wait to get to work on making the squares for the Dogghan. Currently pattern designing and that has been lots of fun!

Playing Kitty catchup! Got thru 4 done, injuried my hand and haven’t got to crochet much. Tackling these next squares all together if it kills me actually, the not crocheting is what’s killing me! Thanks for the cal and your blog that holds them till we can get them if we fall behind ❤
JHWinter
Of course, Sherry! I’m sorry to hear about your hand! What bad timing, right? 😛 These will always be here for you though, waiting for you to be able to make them <3
