CATGHAN CAL – Week #18 – Firefly + Announcement
Can you believe Halloween is coming next month? I certainly can’t! Summer is ending and Fall is quickly approaching. The leaves will change colors, bringing in the beautiful fiery colors of red, orange, and yellow.
Although we don’t have fireflies around where I live in the Pacific Northwest, I do love the idea of them lighting up the night sky, flickering on and off like little blinking stars.
So without further ado, here is my homage to Autumn with a black cat, pumpkin, full moon, and you guessed it… FIREFLIES!
Happy crocheting!

If you are just starting to work on your squares for the CATGHAN CAL, I suggest starting with Week One’s PEEKAMEW square and work alongside me in the YouTube Video for that week. Week Two’s Mouse Watching square also has a video as well. Once you work your way through those two, I have no doubt you’ll be ready to work on the more difficult squares (in regards to color changing only, the stitches are the same).
** I have new videos up on my YouTube channel that explain: How to tie in loose ends and create the single crochet border around each square. **
This pattern was lovingly tested by the wonderful crocheters over on the Facebook Group: CAL – Crochet A Long. Stop by, join the group, and crochet with us!
While this Catghan CAL posts will always be here for free on my blog, for convenience, I’ve also created one giant PDF file for those who would like to purchase a copy of all the files together in one place. No searching through posts necessary. Plus, it’s over there now, should you want to work ahead of the group rather than wait for each week’s new square. You can purchase this pattern for a small fee here on Ravelry or now over in my Etsy Shop.

Guess What’s Being Tested Now???
If you guessed the Dogghan… You’re 100% right!!!
I finished designing the Dogghan this week and thanks to my wonderful team over on the CAL FB group, we should have the pattern tested within a month or two, and you know what that means???
We are hoping to begin the Dogghan CAL in 2019 instead of 2020! Anyone getting excited yet? I know I am. Stay tuned!!!

Thanks!!!!

I can’t imagine a summer without fireflies! It’s always exciting when we spot the first ones of the season, and when fall is almost here, the last fireflies remind me there’s still a little bit of time left before it snows.
